Wine

Reds

Masciarelli Montepulciano D’Abruzzo (Italy, house red)

This dry classic Italian wine has a slightly smoky and dusty nose of dark berries and leather with a presence of cherries, blackberries and chocolate. Drink with pizza and pasta! Masciarelli is the largest organically farmed estate in Italy.

Tierra del Sol Malbec (Argentina, 2007)

Intense, deep, dark color with notes of dark fruit, cherries, and raspberries with hints of coffee, chocolate and violet. This Malbec pairs well with steaks, pastas, and barbecue. The name is taken from the phrase, “tierra del sol y buen vino (land of sun and good wine)”, for which the province of Mendoza is known. High altitude vines with little need for chemicals. This is a great everyday drinking wine!

Strong Arms Shiraz (SE Australia, 2007)

Sweet-fruited vibrant nose of fragrant violets, plums, cherry and musk. The palate has rich blackberry, raspberry and licorice. Finishes with a creamy, vanillina oak and slightly smoky character. Great with mediterranean foods and grilled meats. Strong Arms is named after a work of art by a talented artist named Mel Kadel whose work captures the trials, tribulations, and triumphs of everyday life—in essence, why we drink wine.

Castle Rock Syrah (California)

Aromas and lots ripe dark berry, dried cherry and plum with a subtle spice and a hint of sweet tobacco. Voted one of the “Top 100 Best Buys of 2008” by Wine Enthusiast Magazine: “Somehow, this California winery manages to put out the best budget Syrah in all of Washington State…This wine just wants to be what it is–affordable, juicy and nicely representative of the higher acid, food-ready flavors of Washington state grapes.”

Apaltagua Pinot Noir (Chile, 2008)

“A fantastic value of a Pinot Noir with brilliant ruby color emphasizing aromas of cherries, raspberries, and soft notes of oak, with smooth and elegant tannins and a sophisticated finish. Apaltagua Winery’s 65-year-old vineyards are located in the prestigious Apalta region of Colchagua, renowned for producing quality red wines. Alvaro Espinoza, is one of Chile’s top winemakers and a pioneer of biodynamic / organic grape farming.

Cantina Tollo “Valle d’Oro” Montepulciano (Italy, 2006)

Aromas of black cherries, licorice, and clove rise from the glass while generous flavors of ripe blackfruits, white pepper, and herbs await within. Italy in a bottle. Valle d’Oro translates to Valley of Gold. Only 6,000 cases imported.

Monkey Business Merlot (Sonoma, 2006)

This is one of our favorite wines! An outstanding value- much more complex than your typical merlot.

Ten Spoon Range Rider (Montana, 2008)

Gold Medal and Best of Region Granite Peak Award, 2009 Northwest Wine Summit.

Klinker Brick Zinfandel (Lodi, California, 2007)

With aromas of fresh blackberry, raspberry, pepper and cedar, this wine has exceptional balance on the palate. There are rich flavors of berry pie with a long, lingering finish. These are one hundred year old vines cultivated by the same family. Klinker Bricks were chosen by Craftsmen architects in the 1920’s for their distinctive qualities, including unique shapes and dark, rich color, much like the zinfandel grape.

Kings Ridge Pinot Noir (Oregon)

Classic Pinot Noir Cranberry, raspberry and currants on the nose and palate. The acidity from the 2007 vintage gives freshness and definition to the palate. Two veteran winemakers left their corporate jobs to produce wine anyone can enjoy, any night of the week.

Ten Spoon Prairie Thunder, Red (Missoula, MT, 2007)

Rich and sumptuous. A dollar for every bottle sold goes to The Vital Ground Foundation to preserve and restore grizzly bear habitat.

Ten Spoon Sweet Mountain Cherry Dessert wine (Montana, 2008)

Rich cherry flavor, satisfying yet not heavy; delicious with nuts and chocolate.

Ten Spoon Moonlight, Pinot Noir (Willamente Valley, 2007)

Willamette Valley grapes, gently handled, are the secret behind this superb pinot noir.

Ten Spoon Flathead Cherry Dry (Missoula, MT)

A caramel and cherry nose, satisfying rich flavor, made from Lambert cherries grown along Flathead Lake.

White Oak Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa, 2005)

“Dark and slightly brooding with aromas of dark chocolate, cassus and rose hip. Full and juicy in the mouth, flavors of currants and black plum and tea are supported by ripe tannins. Black fruit and toasty oak combine to form the lingering finish. This is a fine wine for a special occasion! Bill Myers worked as a building contractor and salmon fisherman in Alaska. In the 70s, Bill relocated to the bucolic town of Healdsburg, California, sold his boat, purchased his first vineyard in the Alexander Valley and began to make wine. Connoisseur’s Guide – 90 Points Best Buy!”

El Ganador Malbec (Mendoza, Argentina, 2006)

This Malbec displays an attractive nose of violets and blackfruits. Supple with ripe flavors of blackberries, plums and spice. Red meat please! El Ganador translates to “The Winner” and this wine is exactly that.

A to Z Chemin de Terre Red Blend (Oregon, 2006)

Amazing complexity to this Rogue Valley Blend! Aromas and flavors of raspberries, blackberries, plums, chocolate, tobacco, and coffee abound here. Wow! This wacky blend of Merlot, Cab Sauv., Syrah, Cab Franc, Sangiovese, Grenache, and Pinot Noir is simply irresistable.

Bubblies, Pinks, & Gently Sparkling Wines

Pic Poul de Pinet Picpoul / aka Folle Blanche (France, 2008)

Flavors of honeydew melon, green apples, and ocean air are apparent in this wine. Being incredibly fresh and lively, this one begs for fresh seafood! In France, Picpoul is generally used in the production of Brandy and rarely made into fine wine. This one is outstanding!

Mont Marcal Cava (Spain, 2006)

Pleasantly dry this Cava boasts aromas and flavors of d’Anjou pear, yellow apple, lemongrass and a dusty minerality. This is a perennial bargain. Mont-Marçal Brut Reserva is produced from 33% each of indigenous white grapes (Parellada, Macabeo and Xarel-lo) and aged at least 24 months with the yeast.

Ca Vittoria Prosecco (Italy)

A little less dry, this is a classic Italian sparkling wine!

Crios Pink Malbec (Mendoza, 2008)

This is a lively rose’ with the taste of fresh picked ripe strawberries. The finish is crisp and dry- a tad spicy. Great with salads and lighter entrees. Crios means “offspring” and Winemaker Susana Balbo named Crios to honor her children, but also because the Crios wines are great wines to enjoy while they are young and vibrant.

Whites

Oak Grove Chardonnay (California, house white)

This wine shines with tropical fruit flavors, followed by a smooth, creamy finish with notes of vanilla and toasty oak. Great with seafood and chicken! This reserve California appellation wine is primarily made from grapes grown on California’s Central Coast including Monterey County, Arroyo Seco, and Paso Robles. Silver medalist:
San Francisco Chronicle Wine Awards, 2009.

Campanile Pinot Grigio (Italy, 2008)

The bright whites of Italy. Great on a hot summer afternoon!

Heron Chardonnay

Crisp with flavors of lemon, pear and orange peel. Just the right time in French oak underscores the lush yet clean, fruit-driven wine with a hint of vanilla. Refreshing and dry, it is pure, unadulterated Chardonnay. When Heron started in 1995 it was unusual for an American woman to be making her own wine in France. Heron seeks to produce serious wines that maintain elegance and balance (in everything!), and deliver tons of character and soul.

Ten Spoon Paradise Pear (Montana, 2008)

Bosc, Anjou and Bartlett pears make an elegant, dry dinner wine.

Von Der Leyen Rielsing (Germany, 2006)

We picked this one for Riesling lovers. It is an outstanding value with just the perfect sweetness.

Babich Sauvignon Blanc

Lifted tropical fruits with notes of lantana and capsicum. This is a balanced wine, with a texture that will match well with any food but is Gold Medal, Fingers Lake International Wine Competition, 2009

Ten Spoon St. Pepin white (Montana grown, 2008)

Formerly FAT CAT, this white wine has a delicate fragrance and refined fruit taste. Made from robust vines that survive -26 temps. Bronze Medal, 2009 Northwest Wine Summit.

Bethel Heights Pinot Gris (Washington, 2008)

Enticing aromas of tangerine, lime, and lemon zest give way to abundant flavors of apricot, white peach, and asian pear. Lively acidity makes this wine delightful. Established in 1977, Bethel Heights has been a leader in high quality, low production wines in Willamette Valley for decades. Certified Oregon Sustanable.

Torii Mor Pinot Blanc (Oregon, 2008)

With tropical fruits and crème brulee on the nose, as well as rich baked apple and cloves on the palate, this wine is as decadent as it sounds. Delicious! Torii are the ornate gates often seen at the entrances of Japanese gardens. Mor is an ancient Scandinavian word meaning “earth”.
